2016, Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg Stuttgart
contact-sensitive highly pigmented ultramarine, emulsion paint, benches, visitors
The Café-Lounge of Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg was originally painted in brown and grey, which I replaced with a bright ultramarine. All the furniture was removed and, instead of comfy leather armchairs, I put classical wooden beer garden benches in front of the blue surface. When people sat down they automatically touched the wall and thus left a trace of white shimmer on it. During the show people started writing personal messages onto the blue colourfield.
