2017/2021| spray chalk, visitors
„record is created at public events and is determined by the behavior of the visitors. Sophie Innmann uses painterly means to capture human actions in their temporal transience and thus examines the exhibition in its function as a space of communication. Both the temporally determined exchange between art and viewers, as well as social interactions among visitors, are literally recorded and archived. Over a fixed period of time, the artist traces encounters with art and between visitors, helping us to uncover what an exhibition rarely reveals: its role as a social space.“
